Call me jerk, but till last weekend I didn’t know that Pluto is not a full planet anymore! Did you know that in 2006 scientists rated him as only a dwarf planet? – I was shocked. But now I know. Thanks Baleace that I had the opportunity to experience this nice day with you. We had great weather and strolled down Lakeshore Drive while complaining about the walking \ud83d\ude00 Even though we had Pretzel Buns or „Kastanien“ for breakfast. Yes! You’re right. Tasted like Bavaria!<\/p>\n

Finally getting to the Adler Planetarium we witnessed a flight to the moon, the sun, Venus and some other planets before we moved on to other shows about our solar system. Including a lesson about the sky full of stars over Chicago, which is mostly hard to see because of all the lights of the city. But hey, nice to know theoretically about that. On our brake I saw the photoshoot right at the glass front of the Planetarium. It was for the 15th birthday of a girl, looking like a little cupcake with her puffy bluish dress. And these shoes! Bling-bling! Amazing! Also some couples in their wedding outfits used the adorable weather to freeze their special moment in front of the skyline of Chicago. When we got back to catch the train home, which didn’t work out really, (sorry Baleace) we stopped at Cafecito to get nice Cuban sandwiches, salad and cheesecake. Es muy bueno!<\/p>\n

Kleiner Kommentar: Weil ich mittlerweile schon fast 4 Monate hier bin, dachte ich, k\u00f6nnte ich doch endlich anfangen und meine Blogeintr\u00e4ge bilingual f\u00fchren. Ich bin mir zwar nicht sicher, wie\u00a0 lange ich das durchziehen werde, aber for now, it’s great fun!<\/p>\n

Ich war am Wochenende mit Baleace, einer Freundin meiner Gastschwester und mittlerweile auch gute Seele f\u00fcr mich, downtown Chicago, um zum Adler Planetarium zu gehen. Super super nices Museum! Und was ich da erkennen musste, hat mich schwer getroffen: Pluto ist gar keiner der neun Planeten die mir mein Vater jeden Sonntag erkl\u00e4rt!! Wie soll man denn jetzt bitte diesen Spruch noch anwenden, um sich die Reihenfolge der Planeten zu merken, die um die Sonne kreisen?!<\/p>\n

Naja, nach dem Schock haben wir uns erstmal k\u00f6stlich \u00fcber das Fotoshooting eines M\u00e4dels zu ihrem 15. Geburtstag am\u00fcsiert. Weil die Verglasung des Museumsgeb\u00e4udes keinen Sichtschutz garantiert hatten wir freie Sicht auf das Posing. Aufgetakelt mit t\u00fcrkisem Bauschkleid und Highheels bis zur Decke, glitzernd ohne Ende, Stand das M\u00e4del in strahlendem Sonnenschein. Kennt jemand von euch noch \u201cMy Sweet Sixteen\u201d, das damals auf MTV lief?! Genau so! \ud83d\ude00 Und ich dachte immer, dass das nicht wahr sein kann.<\/p>\n

Danach sind wir dann noch paar mal zum Mond und zur Sonne geflogen (wirklich super gemachte Animation) und haben uns den Sternenhimmel von Chicago erkl\u00e4ren lassen, den man wegen der vielen Lichter bei Nacht sowieso nie wirklich sehen kann. Auf dem Nachhauseweg haben wir uns dann noch in nem cubanischen Restaurant verk\u00f6stigt und haben knapp unseren Zug verpasst. – ist ja nicht so, dass mir das noch nie passiert w\u00e4re \ud83d\ude00 irgendwie verflixt. (Zum Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck gabs \u201cKastanien\u201d!! Wirkliche Laugensemmeln!! Ich habs fast nicht glauben k\u00f6nnen, aber Chicago kann was!
