Hey,

KIA! 🙂

"IMG_4499"

Ich habe keine zwei Familien, ich habe jedoch zwei Mütter, zwei Väter & drei Brüder!

-> English:

Hey,

you wonder surely why I wrote this post in english … Quite simple, for me it is very important that it can be read by my American side of the family. 🙂

I will start now from the past.

My father from Germany was here at Thanksgiving for a visit. I was very happy that he came and see my life, my family, my college, … & also informed about me, so far away from Germany.

Thanksgiving was great, all sitting together & rejoice.

"IMG_2768" "IMG_2675" "IMG_2677" "IMG_2681"

Well, there also has disadvantage, he has indeed returned to Germany, so that means goodbye again …

I got postcards, packages & loving words from you from Germany. THANK YOU!

"IMG_2640"

I got muffins from classmates & the best boss in the work.

"IMG_4259" "IMG_2920"

& Even if it sometimes hurts, doctors help & want conjure you a smile in your face.

"IMG_4258"

Many ask me if I’m homesick or if I miss something very bad from Germany …

Well my answers were always the same. „I’m fine, i am not homesick but that certainly I get at Christmas.“ Homesickness was itself also never an issue for me at the time in America, but somehow you have a slight brooding, how does it all suddenly so far away from my family, I have never been alone for so long somewhere …

Until then everything was okay and good for me, but then came Christmas. :/ That had to be yes, it could not have been fail this year? : D

Everywhere it is decorated for Christmas, such as the Jolly Holiday Lights.

"IMG_2818" "IMG_2840" "IMG_2871" "IMG_2877" "IMG_2893" "IMG_2903"

Then there is a beginning to realize that it’s been nearly 5 months since i have seen my family & that i can talk in person with friends …

& then comes the day – Christmas is here, the last door of the Advent calendar.

"IMG_3403"

Okay, so far I’ve really homesickness can slide in front of me without any problems. But if one of my family gets pictures of the Christmas tree decorated like my little brother has my dog in his arms, like family sitting with Grandpa together at the table and eating, it feels not so simply slide the front of me.

Yes, the next moment you look up and you can sit at a wonderful family together, not alone and smiling because you’re happy. You also have here an nice christmas tree & a nice family.

"IMG_3442" "IMG_3428" "IMG_3424" "IMG_3404" "IMG_3408" "IMG_3413"

Thank you my friends for your great gifts, for the cookies, who arrived on time on December 24, for all the support I get from you & get & have for this wonderful family that I have!

"IMG_4605" "IMG_4604" "IMG_4603" "IMG_4602" "IMG_4601" "IMG_2641" "IMG_4606" "IMG_3448"

American Christmas:

We celebrated Christmas that we ate supper together on December 24 and then we went to the church, the next day morning we packed up the presents & ate lunch together.

German Christmas:

On December 24, at noon we do a large family dinner, the evening will be eaten together with the smaller family & then presents are opened.

To get a bracelet from an American side with the Charm „Family“ At Christmas, leaves a grin. Get a gift from the mother of my host mother with the words: „From your American grandmother“. But the phrase: „It would be very sad, if you are going after such a long time back to Germany“ – from my little (okay, taller, but younger) brother & without these people, it would be not so easy to be so far away from Germany.

"IMG_2589"IMG_3406" "IMG_4363" "IMG_2641" "IMG_1502"

Do I already introduced our new family member?

KIA! 🙂

"IMG_4499"

I do not have two families, but I have two mothers, two fathers and three brothers!
