Heute morgen saß ich noch mit meiner Hostfamily in La Grange im Cafe und habe gefrühstückt und nun sitz ich ganz schön erledigt in einem süßen leicht bläuchlich gestrichenem Zimmer mit zwei Betten, herrlich weichen Kissen, vielen Lampen, einem HEIZKÖRPER, eigenem Bad und großen begehbaren Kleiderschrank, das ich nun mein Reich nennen darf. Genau! Hab jetzt nach Washington D.C. gewechselt, genauer Chevy Chase. Wie ich schon erwähnt hatte, bin ich beim CIP dabei also dem Praktikum im Büro meines Abgeordneten im US Congress.
Zack! Das geht alles so schnell!
Jetzt haben wir also Samstag. Ich bin um 5 in Baltimore angekommen. Bin von Midway aus geflogen und musste in Detroit umsteigen. BTW sehr cooler und moderner Flughafen! Amy hat mich dann aufgesammelt. Sie und ihr Mann Peter haben mich wunderbar aufgenommen. Wir hatten zusammen ein schönes Abendessen, wobei ich gefühlt schon mal meine ganze Lebensgeschichte dargelegt habe. Außerdem habe ich auch schon ein paar Aufgaben und Tipps von Amy für meine Zeit im Congress bekommen. Diese Frau ist sehr engagiert und weiß, was sie will und das freut mich sehr. Hier im Keller gibt es einen Raum, den ich als Tanzraum nehmen kann und Amy möchte ein paar Ballettschritte gelernt bekommen. Sie interessiert sich sehr für Kunst und Tanz. Außerdem ist Peter Läufer und will mir mal den Park hier um die Ecke zeigen. Also wunderbar auf meiner Wellenlänge! Amy war auch schon ziemlich oft in Deutschland (ich glaube über 5 mal und hat dort sogar für zwei Jahre studiert). Mal sehen, wie viel Deutsch ich aus ihr rauskitzeln kann. Morgen gehts jedenfalls mal zum gemeinsamen Einkaufen und Stadt erkunden, ehe wir uns alle (die Leute vom Programm mit Hostfamilies) beim Dinner zur Orientierung treffen.
Für die Zeit hier, nehme ich mir vor euch ein bisschen mehr in das Geschehen einzubinden! Also seid gespannt auf Bilder und Blogeinträge! (Fingers crossed that will work out!)
Gerade prasselt der Regen derbe hart gegen meine Fensterscheiben… ist gerade auch ziemlich warm für die Wintertage hier. Kuschelig… Das macht mich noch mehr müde, als ich eh schon bin.
